Banana cut

A Banana Cut is a when an offensive player makes an ineffective effort to thwart his defender by running to an open space. Instead of a sharp change of direction required for a proper cut, a banana cut has the offensive player making an easy-to-follow arc across the field. A banana cut is detrimental to the offense in that takes up a previously open space.
