Break

Break has several meanings in the context of Ultimate.
- A break-point is when the team starting on defense scores.
And several variations relating to the concept of defensive force
- A 'break mark throw is thrown in the opposite direction of the force. If a defender is forcing home, the thrower will throw in the away direction to complete the break mark throw. Breaking the force is very advantageous for the offense because defensive marking is weaker on the break force side.
- Break Side is the side of the field where the defense is weaker.
- A call of no break! is an instruction/encouragement to the defensive player currently marking the disc not to get broken, and is usually called when an offensive player gets free on the closed side of the field (and would therefore be easy to throw a break-force throw to).
