Pull

The "Pull" is action that restarts the game after a point. It is very similiar to a kick-off, in North American Football. The team with the disc, throws it to the other team.

A good pull is a throw that makes the disc go very far, and makes it take a lot of time before it comes down to the ground. This makes the other team start far away from their attacking endzone, gives the defense a chance for a Callahan, and finally allows the defense time to reach thier assignment before the offense establishes a flow.

From Rules of Ultimate - 10th edition :
"A pull is the throw from one team to the other that starts play at the beginning of a half or after a goal. It is not considered to be a legal throw for scoring and has many special provisions."

If a pull lands out of bounds, untouched by the receiving team it is a brick.
